The U15 World Cup Qualifier had interesting results on the third day of play in Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Venezuela came away with victories with their game reschedule because of rain pending.
Puerto Rico had gut to comeback and beat Cuba 4-2 in a game that their rivals had under control until the sixth inning when starter Roiber Hernández lost the perfect game, the no hitter and the shutout.
Puerto Rico scored three of the four runs in the sixth after two outs, and after knocking the Cuban starter out of the game, from there on they turned the game around and came away with victory.
Gerant Vega had a very good outing as starter for Puerto Rico, Dwen Navarro and Danel Reyes completed the game in which they limited Cuba to only two runs to win the game.
In the afternoon duel between host Venezuela and Dominican Republic, the Venezuelans came away with the victory by score 8-4 after scoring six runs in the third inning.
Starter Rafael Lasorsa had an outstanding game, retiring up to ten straight batters until exiting in the sixth inning, Carlos Pernalete came to finish the outing and close out the game and the victory for the host team.
Panama stays in top with record 2-0, Puerto Rico is next with 1-0, Venezuela and Cuba equal with 1-1, and Dominican Repubic (0-1) and Colombia (0-2) will have to wait a little longer to get their first victory.
Tournament continues on Monday with Panama playing against Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico faces Colombia and Venezuela will play against Cuba, the action at José Bernardo Pérez stadium in Valencia.
