Luis Robert Jr. went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and a stolen base, leading the White Sox to a 6-5 win over the Yankees in the opening contest of Thursday's doubleheader.

Robert went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, two total runs and a stolen base Thursday in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Yankees. Robert hit one of three homers against Yankees starter Luis Severino, drilling a 424-foot solo shot in the third inning. The home run marked his 50th in the Major Leagues. He notched his third straight multi-hit performance in Game 1 of the twin bill, though that streak was snapped when he went 0-for-2 with a walk in the nightcap. Robert's homer was his 14th of the campaign, establish a new career-high mark.

Astros manager Dusty Baker indicated to reporters late Thursday that Yordan Álvarez (oblique) is likely to wind up missing time due to a right oblique injury.

Nothing official yet, but it certainly sounds like Álvarez could wind up requiring a trip to the injured list following an early exit from Thursday's series finale against the Blue Jays due to right oblique discomfort. He told reporters afterwards that he felt something on a swing in the batting cages before the game and was unable to continue after just one at-bat against Toronto. He'll presumably undergo some additional testing to determine the severity of the issue before Houston decides whether to send him to the injured list.

Raisel Iglesias picks up second win. Iglesias allowed nothing, earning the win in Thursday's crazy 13-10 win over the Mets. Iglesias had no trouble protecting a tie game in the tenth inning with two strikeouts. He's been solid over the last seven games, allowing just one hit, with four walks, and five strikeouts over 6.1 innings. The closer is now at a 2.63 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB with eight saves through 15 appearances.

Royals OF prospect Dairon Blanco went 2-for-4 with three RBI and three stolen bases on Thursday for Triple-A Omaha.

Blanco leads all Triple-A hitters with a staggering 42 stolen bases this season through just 46 games. The 30-year-old speedster got into five contests last year for the Royals and continues to run wild in the upper minors. There's enough stolen base upside that he'd be worthy of consideration for a roster spot in Kansas City at some point this summer.

Yoán Moncada belted a solo homer in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

Moncada led off the third inning with his first round-tripper since April 2. Seriously, we're not making this up. He went 1-for-8 in the double header and his BA is sitting now at .238 for the year.

Yasmani Grandal was not in the White Sox' starting lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Yankees.

He'll presumably be back in there behind the plate for the nightcap on Thursday. Seby Zavala will don the tools of intelligence in his place and will bat ninth for the White Sox against Luis Severino and the Yankees on Thursday afternoon in New York.

Yankees placed LHP Néstor Cortés on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to June 5, with a left rotator cuff sprain.

As anticipated, Cortés lands on the injured list and will be shelved for at least a few weeks.

Yandy Díaz was absent from the Rays’ starting lineup for the second straight day on Thursday.

Rays manager Kevin Cash told reporters on Thursday that Yandy Díaz is dealing with some minor left hip soreness. Díaz was held out of the Rays’ lineup for the second consecutive game on Thursday, though he was available off the bench. He’s tentatively expected to return to the lineup on Friday.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was held out of the Diamondbacks' lineup once again on Thursday.

It was the fourth consecutive game that the 29-year-old outfielder has missed due to a groin issue. Eventually, if he doesn't start to improve, the Diamondbacks are going to have to consider a trip to the injured list.
