Astros' Yordan Álvarez and Yuli Gurriel: One hit on Monday. Yandy Díaz: Hitless.

Álvarez and Gurriel went 1-for-8 combined on Monday's 4-0 victory against Tampa Bay. Álvarez had the only hit of the pair in the game - an RBI single to right field -and also scored a run. It was Álvarez' RBI #94 of the year. Late in the game he was replaced by Mauricio Dubón. Meanwhile Gurriel was 0-for-4 with a strikeout, leaving his BA in .244 for the season. In the same game, for Tampa, Yandi Díaz went hitless with his walk #77 of the year, and two strikeouts. Yandy' slash line this season is .292/.399/.419 with 9 HR, and 54 RBI.

Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Scoreless inning on Monday.

Iglesias pitched a scoreless inning on Monday's 5-2 win against the Nationals. Iglesias threw 19 pitches, 12 of them strikes, while allowing a single with two strikeouts. In his last 21 games Iglesias has a 0.46 ERA in 19.2 innings, with 4 walks, and 24 strikeouts.

Randy Arozarena went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts on Monday in his return to the Rays' lineup.

Tampa Bay's lineup managed just five hits in a shutout loss to the Astros as Luis Garcia, Hunter Brown and Héctor Neris combined on a shutout. Arozarena was back in the Rays' lineup after sitting out Sunday's series-ending victory over the Rangers due to a non-COVID illness.

Marlins' Jorge Soler: Avoiding surgery. Soler (back) won't require offseason surgery and will take part in core-strengthening work for the next three weeks before resuming baseball activities, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reported. Soler has already been shut down for the 2022 season, but assuming he experiences no setbacks in his strengthening work over the next few weeks, he should be in line for a relatively normal offseason. The 30-year-old is expected to exercise his $15 million player option for 2023 this winter after a disappointing inaugural campaign in Miami in which he posted a .695 OPS over 305 plate appearances.
